HBOT
Discover the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy promotes healing in 14 medically-recognized conditions by delivering a high concentration of oxygen quickly and deeply into the affected areas of the body. HBOT for these 14 conditions is covered by OHIP at no cost to the patient.
What happens during a treatment?
The treatment takes place inside a closed chamber. The atmospheric pressure inside the chamber is increased to a prescribed level. The patient is given 100 percent oxygen to breathe for a set amount of time.
Who benefits from HBOT?
Those affected by any of the 14 conditions listed below can benefit from HBOT.
How long is a treatment?
The duration of each treatment, the number of treatments and the pressure used all vary, depending upon the patient’s condition.
What’s the appointment process?
In order to book an appointment, a physician referral is needed. We recommend that you talk to your Doctor about getting started.
In April 2005, the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society recognized HBOT as an effective treatment for 14 specific medical conditions.
